Diplomate, American Board of Pathology in Dermatopathology

Dr. Brown joined the group as Director of Dermatopathology in 2011. After earning a B.S. in Applied Physiology at the University of Iowa, he remained in Iowa City to complete his M.D. at Iowa's Carver College of Medicine. Though he began his residency training in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, he worked under the tutelage of Drs. Evan Farmer (Johns Hopkins) and Philip LeBoit (UCSF) while a resident. After residency, he completed a dermatopathology fellowship in the University of Arkansas (UAMS) Department of Pathology chaired by Dr. Bruce Smoller, where he gained extensive clinical experience in melanoma and cutaneous lymphoma, and where he remained on faculty as a clinical instructor from 2010-2011.

While his clinical interests in dermatopathology are broad, Dr. Brown's research interests lie in the fields of inflammatory skin disorders and cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases. In addition, he has extensive experience in medical student and resident education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in both journal and abstract form, as well as book chapters and reviews in dermatopathology. Dr. Brown is certified by the American Board of Pathology in both anatomic and dermatopathology. A native of Philadelphia and former classically-trained danseur, Dr. Brown, his wife, and daughter are happy to call Little Rock home, where they enjoy ballet, symphony, live theater, culinary arts, and the beautiful outdoors.
